Dr. Steve Lucas
Dr. Steve Lucas graduated with a Bachelors’ degree in Agriculture Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1987 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree also from Oklahoma State in 1991. He began practice in Wheatland in 1991 following graduation. In 1992 he became a partner in the veterinary practice.
Dr. Lucas’s practice interests are in both beef cattle and small animal medicine and surgery. His enthusiasm for serving the beef industry involves developing efficient vaccine protocols, bio security management, and herd performance management. Dr. Lucas also has a strong focus on small animal medicine and surgery. He is especially drawn to orthopedic procedures as well as a variety of challenging soft tissue surgeries. He also enjoys both canine and feline dentistry.
Dr. Lucas has been married to his beautiful wife, Melissa, since 1989, and they have two adult children, Lance and Audrey. Lance is married to his wife, Paige, and they have a son named Maximilian. After completing five years of formation in seminary, Dr. Lucas has been Ordained as a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church in 2021. He is excited to joyfully serve the greater community in his ministry both as a Deacon and Veterinarian. Dr. Lucas’s hobbies include camping, backpacking, water skiing, and travel with family and friends.
